Mayuge District outgoing CAO, Mr. Magumba Eria (standing left) handed over office to new CAO, Mr. Eswilu Donath on Friday 12th Jan 2024

Mayuge District outgoing Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Mr. Magumba Eria on Friday 12th January, 2024 handed over office to the new CAO, Mr. Eswilu Donath from Omoro District Local Government where he spent 6 months. The ceremony was held at the District Headquarters in the boardroom.

While handing over office, Mr. Magumba welcomed the new CAO and thanked the political and technical staff who welcomed him in Mayuge since 10th October 2022 when he reported.

He informed the new CAO that Mayuge team is competent if well guided and the District was ranked the 5th in Uganda for the last national assessment, water sector was the first and the health sector emerged the last thus a lot of work need to be done in the health sector.

He further said there are only two vacant positions to be filled. The position of the District Health Officer (DHO) and Secretary for District Service Commission.

The new CAO, Mr. Eswilu expressed gratitude to the District stakeholders for the warm welcome and appealed for teamwork, stoppage of back stabbing each other and urged the team to ask where one doesn't understand.

He thanked the out-going CAO, Mr. Magumba for the time he had been in Mayuge and he will keep consulting him as his encyclopedia as well as consulting the District Chairperson.

He also noted that he is not bringing magic bullet to Mayuge. When his time comes, he will also hand over office.

The Vice Chairperson LCV, Hon. Tasibula Peter Nkwanga who represented the District Chairperson thanked the out-going CAO for his thirteen (13) months in office as Mayuge CAO. Also welcomed the new CAO to Mayuge District and notified him that the council is passionate to legal procedures.

Hon. Tasibula also said every political regime has a transformation agenda for effective service delivery. Thus, he commended adherence to the pillars of unity, transparency and team work.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Vice Chairperson LCV, District Internal Security Officer, District Executive Committee Members, District Councillors, Heads of Department, Senior Assistant Secretaries, Town Clerks and some District based staff.
