School enrollment in gov’t aided schools by Sub County:

Secondary schools:

There are six secondary government aided schools: kigandalo ss, baitambogwe ss, st. John buwaya, bunya ss, kaluuba and malongo ss in the respective sub counties of bukabooli, baitambogwe, buwaya, Mayuge tc, kityerera, and malongo.

The following sub counties have no government aided secondary schools:- kigandalo, bukatube, imanyiro, wairasa, mpungwe, busakira, and jagusi island.

Universal secondary education (USE)

This is a government programme which has taken off in order to increase access to secondary education. The schools that are under taking this programme are:-

Tertiary institutions

The district has only one tertiary institute which is Nkoko technical institute situated in kityerera Sub County. It started operating this year 2011.

Co-curricular activities

All schools both primary and secondary, government and private have always had an active participation in these activities at different levels.

That is schools, zonal county, regional and national. However at some occasions, the funds have not been readily available to send our teams for national levels. The activities are:
