Administration
The administrative department is headed by the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer. As an accounting officer, takes charge of all administrative issues in collaboration with the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and Assistant Chief Administrative Officers at county and sub-county levels. The department comprise of the following:-
Education: Mayuge district education department was established in February 2001 and has now existed for ten years.
Human Resource Management and Development: Headed by the Principal Personnel Officer. This function includes records management as one of its functions.
Works: The department is currently headed by the superintendent of works (civil) who is acting district engineer. He is assisted by the senior water officer who is in charge of the water and sanitation sector. We have a borehole maintenance supervisor who carries out routine mechanical inspection of the borehole under the water sector and sanitation.
The department has two assistant engineering officers that is one civil and other mechanical. The civil one is in charge of transport/mechanical section.
The road inspector is in charge of routine maintenance activities on the district feeder roads and also supervises the construction of community access roads.
The department is further assisted by drivers, operators and plants attendants. We also have a stenographer and a copy typist in the secretarial pool.
Finance: The directorate of finance and planning is headed by the chief finance officer. It’s composed of finance department and planning unit. It has got a total number of 11(eleven) qualified staff. Also there is a total of 3(support staff).
The health sector: It is headed by the district director of health services supported by other staff e.g. there are assistant district health officer, district health inspector, drug inspector etc. there are three health sub district i.e. bunya east, bunya west and bunya south.
The education department has three sectors: The district education officer is the overall head of the directorate and directorate and coordinates the daily running of the education activities from schools, district and national levels. At the sub county there is a frame work on education matters. There are chairpersons and secretaries for education.
